After Earth is an American science fiction action film. The movie is both written and directed by M. Knight Shyamalan. Actor Will Smith, who was also the producer and co-writer on the film stars with his real-life son, Jaden, as Cypher and Kitai Raige. Smith actually came up with the story This movie is based on an original story which Will Smith he created, after he watched an episode of the TV show I Shouldn’t Be Alive with his brother-in-law, Caleeb Pinkett. The original concept was not of science fiction, but instead about a father and son who crash their car into a remote mountain location. The movie will be available for viewing on May 31st and available in all IMAX theatres.
The cast of characters also includes Sophie Okonedo, Zoe Kravitz, Glenn Morshower, and Kristofer Hivju.
The movie has received negative reviews from critics and mixed reviews from preview audiences, however the star power of Will Smith and his son is said to be the biggest draw to the movie. The real reviews will come in as soon is the movie is released on May 31st. It is believed that Will smith has tried to incorporate the religion of Scientology into this project. It has also been rumored that Smith has invested his own money into the making of the film to promote Scientology.
Whether or not the reviews have been positive one shouldn’t take that into consideration when seeing the movie. They should go to the theatre and judge for themselves.
